Farnborough Airport is a full-service private airport, the UK's Premier Dedicated Business Aviation Airport.
One of the airports lounges had experienced several cracked and damaged glazed units to its curtain wall façade and was in need of replacement. Due to the site’s high security nature, the glass replacement operation was planned months in advance to meet the strict programme for access.
In order to overcome a site with difficult access issues, our Project Managers specified a specialist crane with manipulator attachment in order to facilitate the removal and replacement of the existing defective glazed units. The accompanying site images illustrate the specialist crane manoeuvring the new glazed units into position ready for our glazing technicians to fit to the opening aperture.
Also note the ground protection in place of custom truck mats and boarding in order to limit contact between our machinery and the pristine grounds of the airport.
